COMPREHENSIVE SPORTS INJURY CARE

Whether you’re a weekend warrior or a full-time athlete, when you’re suffering from a sports-related injury your focus is getting back into an active lifestyle. That’s also the goal of the team at the Orthopedic & Sports Institute. Our comprehensive care approach integrates all the services you need in a single convenient facility, so you can quickly return to your favorite activities.

Our Unique Approach

It’s our comprehensive care approach that makes Orthopedic & Sports Institute a valuable partner in your progress. That approach starts with diagnosing your condition and determining the most effective treatments. And the process doesn’t stop until you’re back in action.

  • We assess your injury and provide a thorough overview of all the reasonable treatment options available for your condition.
  • At this point, you’ll have a clear picture of potential outcomes of each of these treatment options.
  • A customized plan will be developed to treat your condition, whether that involves non-operative treatment, surgery, physical therapy or a combination of all these approaches. The key to the plan’s success is our team’s ongoing involvement at every step.
  • All the services you need to treat your condition — MRI, physical therapy, outpatient surgery, pain management, and more — are here at the Institute, as part of our comprehensive care approach.

Knowledge Is Power

As sports injury specialists, our surgeons have a keen understanding of a wide variety of sports and experience treating the injuries commonly related to them. Because of their knowledge, our surgeons understand the different types of injuries, how they happen, and the right way to treat them.

In fact, many of our surgeons are athletes themselves, and have been consulting for local sports teams and their trainers for years. This combination of insight and experience benefits patients, who receive more effective treatment.

“The doctor and physical therapist were very progressive in their treatment. I’ve torn both my ACLs and today both knees function at 100% and feel very strong. Everyone did a great job explaining the process to me.”
— Amber Zdanovec, 17-year-old patient

“I tore the meniscus in my right knee playing hockey. Some doctors might have cut it away because it’s easier than repairing it. But I wanted to continue playing, so the doctor took the time to fix it right. Now, it’s as strong as it was before the injury and I’m playing hockey a couple times a week. If I’m ever injured again, I will go right back to the Institute.”
— J. McCarthey

No Referral Required

Unlike some local orthopedic offices, we do not require that you see a series of providers prior to visiting one of our specialists. You can make an appointment and see a surgeon without a referral, saving valuable time and money.

Physical Therapy

Where appropriate, our surgeons may recommend physical therapy as a primary part of treatment or, in some cases, as the only course of treatment needed to resolve an injury. In both cases, the surgeons consult and work directly with the physical therapists.
