Dr. Derksen joined the Orthopedic & Sports Institute in 2008. A member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American Podiatric Medical Association, he has earned numerous awards; the 2005 Michael L. Stone, DPM, Award for Outstanding Professional Conduct, the 2005 Proficiency in Biomechanics and Orthopedic Diseases Award, and the Timothy Holbrook Memorial Award of Excellence in Medicine and Orthopedics.
Dr. Derksen's medical outreach has included a clinical and surgical mission to Northern New Mexico Indian Health Services in Shiprock, New Mexico. He has traveled to Africa twice on surgical mission for Lower Extremity Reconstructions with Physicians for Peace and has plans to return for future mission work.
