Answers to frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral from my primary care physician?

For most patients, the answer is no. Our physicians thrive on direct relationships with our patients. Insurance companies no longer require a referral in most cases.

Are your services more expensive?

We are more cost-competitive because our services are focused solely on orthopedics. Our patients need not worry about paying for services they’ll never use.

Why did you open the Orthopedic & Sports Institute?

Our doctors wanted to create a more patient-friendly environment to treat their patients. The Orthopedic & Sports Institute was established to allow patients with orthopedic issues to be treated quickly, compassionately, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

What insurance do you accept?

We are contracted with most major health insurance carriers.  Please contact your health insurance carrier to confirm we are in-network and contracted for your specific plan.

Following is a list of some of the larger carriers:

  • Arise Health Plan
  • Blue Cross / Blue Shield
  • Cigna
  • Health EOS
  • Humana
  • Medicare / Medicaid
  • Network Health Plan
  • Trilogy
  • United Healthcare
  • WEA
  • WPS

What conditions do your physicians treat?

Our physicians treat the following:

  • Arthritis
  • Tennis elbow
  • Broken bones
  • Sports injuries
  • Rotator cuff tears
  • Knee & hip pain
  • Ankle pain & injuries
  • Total joint replacements
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Bunions & hammertoes
  • Elbow & shoulder pain
  • Plantar fasciitis & foot pain

How long have you been in business?

We have been open since May 2006

Do your doctors do only surgery?

Most of the treatment plans our doctors prescribe are nonsurgical. Operating is reserved for cases that cannot be effectively treated any other way.
