For Immediate Release ORTHOPEDIC & SPORTS INSTITUTE NAMED ALL-SPORTS ATHLETIC TRAINING PROVIDER FOR APPLETON AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT

Appleton, Wis. (July 8, 2009) – Executive Director Curt Kubiak is pleased to announce that The Orthopedic & Sports Institute of the Fox Valley has been chosen as the strategic partner for allsports athletic training for the Appleton Area School District.
This week, AASD Athletic Directors Mark McQuade (Appleton West), Dave Pynenberg (Appleton North), and Tim Zachow (Appleton East) met with OSI and Advanced Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine (APTSM) officials to launch their new partnership. APTSM’s north facilities are located in the state-of-the-art OSI building. While providing athletic and strength-training services are the core of the new OSI-AASD athletic training program, leadership training, nutrition education and career mentoring also play a major role in what OSI is offering AASD athletes. “Leadership training will take Appleton’s athletic program to a whole new level,” said McQuade. Appleton North’s Dave Pynenberg agrees. “OSI’s holisitic approach to athletic training places the focus where it needs to be: first, on athletic and academic performance; then, on developing the leaders of tomorrow.” “OSI’s leadership training, career mentoring, and exposure to community and business leaders will help our athletes now, and in the future,” adds Appleton East’s Tim Zachow. OSI will team up with APTSM president Rob Worth to deliver the professional athletic training and strength & conditioning training AASD athletes need. “We’re also providing free Saturday morning sports-injury clinics,” adds OSI’s Dr. David Eggert. “Our OSI team is determined to build the best athletic training program in the state. And we won’t stop there.” Wednesday, July 29, is Fall Sports Registration & FREE Physicals Day for Appleton West and Appleton North high schools, 4 to 7 p.m., at the Orthopedic & Sports Institute, 2105 East Enterprise Avenue in Appleton (corner of Hwy 41 and Ballard Road). Additionally, OSI will offer FREE Sports-Injury Clinics for area athletes of all ages, 8 to 10 a.m., every Saturday from September 5 through October 24, 2009. The Orthopedic & Sports Institute of the Fox Valley provides bone, joint, and musculoskeletal care in a 51,000 square-foot, all-in-one health care facility that includes an outpatient surgery center, physician clinics, an imaging center, 7 orthopedic surgeons, a podiatrist, a pain-management physician, an anesthesiologist, mid-level health care providers, an orthotist, physical therapists and occupational therapists.
